Why does my TV switch itself off?
Are you wondering why your TV turns itself off? Let’s take a look at how to enjoy your viewing experience to the full, with no unwanted interruptions!

Newer televisions feature an automatic standby function when no activity has been detected for a certain period of time. Usually, all you have to do is touch the remote control when a message pops up to warn you that your TV will shortly automatically switch itself off. You can therefore prevent it from switching off.
If your TV turns off when it hasn’t detected any activity for a while, don’t panic! Simply turn your TV back on. You can sit back and watch the rest of your programme.
Similarly, your set-top box may sometimes go into standby mode, despite your TV still being switched on. The Eltrona box works in the same way as your TV set. If there is no activity for a certain length of time, it will automatically go into standby mode.
GiGA tips
If the Eltrona box standby function is bothering you, you can adjust the length of time before your set-top box switches to standby. To do this, go to “Settings” and then “Save energy”. You can set it to a maximum of 8 hours before your box goes into standby mode!
