What are your standard rates outside the allowance?
While you are on a mobile plan, it is important to remember that standard rates may apply to some calls and to fully understand the implications of this. Understanding this may have a significant impact on your day-to-day use of your phone. Let’s look at this in more detail. Understanding the standard rates will help you see their impact on your mobile bills.
Make informed decisions about how you use your mobile phone!

The standard rates apply when you go over the allowance limits included in your mobile plan. Here’s an example. Let’s say you end up using 120 minutes of call time in a given month, even though your contract only includes up to 100 minutes. The non-allowance standard rate amount therefore accounts for those 20 extra minutes. An extra cost will be payable due to the fact that this time spent on calls was not included in your mobile plan.
In addition to exceeding the minutes or data included in your plan, you may also be charged additional fees if you visit a different tariff zone. For example, making calls from the United States risks adding significant extra costs onto your bill.
GiGA tips
To avoid any unpleasant surprises, we recommend that you familiarise yourself with the full details of your plan: the amount of data you have available, along with the number of call minutes in your allowance and the number of texts you can send.
You should also check the geographic coverage and roaming permissions included in your plan before you next travel abroad.
